Cantgoslo: representing the very worst in cycling since 2005
Cantgoslo is the opposite of Sunday riding. Fast and messy and every day, rain or snow or worse. Brought together by Chris and Nasty, we’re a group of Manchester cyclists that are putting down some miles and sinking some beers in good company and bad weather. No posturing ‘crew’, no pointless elitism, just riding hard and having fun.
Chris has put more bikes into the ground than most frame builders will make in a lifetime. A Manchester courier for longer than he’d like to remember, Chris thrashes track bikes and BMX’s worse than a car crash, and has recently moved on to crushing Triumphs under cabs. He drinks Guinness or French Martini’s, if they’re good enough, and doesn’t care for espresso. He prefers Campagnolo and Yorkshire tea over the inferior shit, and is covered in low-brow, low-fi ink. He listens to the voices in his head, and loves his dog.
OG is a phrase thrown around a lot these days, but if Nasty’s anything, he’s OG. He was couriering, racing, drinking and causing havoc across the world while most ‘OG’ riders still has their stabilisers on, and he still hasn’t learned his lesson. He rides track and road bikes, and has a serious fetish for the NJS. Despite his affinity for keirin gear, he hates Sake, but loves Sierra Nevada and Margheritas. He listens to Swans and Nancy Sinatra, and likes a decent Sunday morning ride.

Most of the time, we’ll be riding with this lot:
Charlie tries his best to keep us on the straight and narrow, and spreads his cycling far and wide. He’s partial to Deutsch lager and Cuban Jazz.
Dangeruss is the oft used graphic master. Aside from designing websites and controlling the court at polo, Russ likes good lager, better bourbon, serious west-coast hip-hop and doing barspins.
Liam OG drinks lager too, and likes riding on rollers and plays drums in the Kruper style.
Chloe is our lovely, hardworking and patient seamstress. She responds kindly to fine wine and whiskey and will always dance to original 70ʹ′s disco.
Dave10 is one of Manchester’s fastest, and despite surviving on a liquid-only diet of Lambrini and Special Brew, he can still manage to tear the bottom bracket out of a track bike with worrying ease.
Maggie T is our hook-up in the USA. She makes the best pancakes ever and somehow drinks within reason. She’s got a lot of time for cycle-cross and Barry Manilow
Morgan writes some of the words and takes some of the pictures. He rides track bikes at night and a Harley on the weekend. He listens to a worrying mix of black metal and Bruce Springsteen.
And the new kids on the block are the cantgoslo under 21′s, the future of the street fixed gear scene…
None of us rollerblade… fuck that.
